Our costumes:

Sleepover house - everyone in pajamas 

Pool scene - character swimming in a bathing suit / killer wearing black glove & hoodie

  

Why have you chosen these costumes?

For our costumes for the sleepover house, we decided to have everyone simply be in pajamas because it is supposed to be a group of teenagers over at a house for a sleepover. More specifically, it will be a comfy shirt and pajama pants. This was a pretty obvious costume for us, as it is what teenagers would usually wear to a sleepover with friends, and so we all immediately agreed on the idea.  Each of these characters will be wearing a pajama set that somewhat reflects their personality.  Part of their costume is their hairstyle, which will also be done to reflect their personality. For example, Sofia will have her hair down to reflect that she is carefree and has a "whatever happens happens" mindset. Aleena will have her hair up in clips to show that she is artistic and creative. I will have a pony tail to show that I am sporty and athletic. Amaya will have her hair in a half-up half-down hairstyle to show how she is trying to 'blend in". 

For our costumes for the Pool scene, we will have the main character wear a bathing suit, as she is going swimming in a pool. This was another costume that simply just goes with the plot. It will be black and red, which are her school colors, because she is on the school swim team. 

 For the mysterious killer, all that will be when on camera is their hand and forearm. Therefore, we will have them wear a long black glove and black hoodie. 

 What do they add to each character? 

For the teenagers, the pajamas and hairstyles show each of their individual personalities.

For the killer, the black glove and hoodie keeps their identity secret and mysterious. This makes the character look dangerous and adds to the thrill and unease toward this character from the audience. The color of both the hoodie and gloves will match, therefore adding to the ominous, evil, and scary vibe. Their hair will be pulled back so it cannot be seen in the camera.

For the swimmer, she will be wearing a swimsuit, but we have decided to make the bathing suit red and black to add an ominous and mysterious vibe to the overall film opening. This adds to the idea of the swimmer being innocent and just going for a harmless swim... unaware of what was going to happen. For the character, these colors being her school colors show she is very proud of her school and swimming for them. Her ponytail will also make her easy to see in the water. 

Accessories/props

For props we have the deck of cards, candles, polaroid pictures, and a towel for the pool scene. These props all add to each scene and build on the story line.

For accessories, the teenagers will be wearing matching bracelets. This is to solidify and make their tight bond clearer on camera. Each character will also have different accessories that will also help highlight their unique personalities. For example, I will have a sports bag to show my sporty-ness and my interest in it. Amaya will haves a pen which she will play with to show she has anxiety, (she is going to be the killer). Sofia will have an eye mask to show she does not really care much about the hangout, and Aleena will have a little colored pencil case showing out of her bag.
